The Canadian Trans-Pacific Free Trade Heist

I moved from the UK to Canada in 2008 because it was a beautiful country with amazing vistas and to support it’s peoples love of the great outdoors.  As time progresses and the more I read and understand about the Harper government, the more I begin to see corruption and a seedy underbelly to this country.  Greed, money and a political interest in the ‘value’ of nature, is turning my love of Canada against Canadian leaders.
Are you Canadian, do you love this country, do you love your leaders, what makes you proud to be Canadian these days?!

The free trade agreement is all about exploiting Canada’s natural resources & agricultural commodities and importing products produced in jurisdictions that have much lower wages in many cases.  After WWII, the Canadian manufacturing sector made up 29% of our economy, but now it only makes up 13% (a 55% decline).  This trend will only continue to get worse based on the decisions the Harper government is making.  Our government should be supporting and promoting local businesses rather than outsourcing local economic potential.  In addition, now that the 2012 Omnibus budget has been passed, environmental assessment on natural resource projects have suffered a serious blow.  Projects will be fast tracked.   The goal of the Harper government is to exploit Canada’s resources as quickly as possible in an effort to sell the raw material to developing nations so that we can purchase the finished products using bank credit.  You can easily see where this is going.

Psychological Warfare

This video is North Korean Propaganda, that actually seems to really hit some valid points! It truly makes you see how the Western cultures of consumerism have been used to exploit and enslave entire populations. I laughed out loud when it shows you the reactions of people “rejoicing” because they just won “consumer goods” or bought a phone!

A worthy watch, there are more parts to come, I suggest you subscribe to the YouTube channel to see what follows.

Are we ALL victims of psychological warfare, by our own leaders. I certainly think so. Even more so with recent actions by the Harper government in Canada. They are losing grip on society as methods are being uncovered and they are finding it ever harder to conceal their draconian, underhand procedures to dumb down the population. It’s time to stand up and ask questions that matter.  It’s time for the people to pave the way, not for the seedy, greedy “elite” to destroy this planet for their own gain. Get involved in the dialogue, do something to make yourself heard and make a difference in the direction of Humanity. If you are not here to contribute, then what are you here for?

I would love to hear your views below in the comments section – thanks for contributing!

Obama gets it right

Some amazing news today, Obama has made two key decisions related to things I feel very strongly about.

He has decided not to back the SOPA Bill – Read Forbes

The Obama administration have also explained that they will not be going forward with the controversial plan with the XL Pipeline. This has upset the oil greedy Canadian Prime Minister, Stephen Harper and the biased Natural Resource Minister Joe Oliver. It is such a breath of fresh air to hear this kind of news from the Obama administration. I just hope we can encourage President Harper to develop some deep morals and change his myopic view of selling Oil to Asia. – Read the Huffington Post article.

Canada Fails Humanity but Serves Corporate Consumer Greed

The people of Canada are an extremely environmentally conscious group of people and here, more than anywhere, I have witnessed the rise of great people doing great things to promote environmental awareness. The country has an amazingly diverse and beautiful landscape which lends itself perfectly to a great deal of outdoor pursuits. For this reason the people that live here understand the importance of looking after the environment and have such a deep appreciation for it. It is because of this that I am completely shocked at the recent decision by Peter Kent, someone who for some unjust reason, has earned the position of Environment Minister!! You have to be kidding. An Environment Minister that pulls out of the Kyoto Treaty??!

Despite Canada’s love of the environment, there is a dark side to it, Oil & Wood export. These items seem to contribute a huge amount to the economy and the Governments’ need for greed is holding it back in regards to progress in relation to all things green.

If Canada just said, “no, we will not export Oil”, then maybe some scientist group would have to come up with alternative ways to create energy. In fact I am pretty sure people already have. I feel that there is too much greed and too much money to be made from Oil and the current system, that the large corporations that control the industry are lobbying the governments so hard that they have been bought over.
If Stephen Harper & Peter Kent were true Canadians, I feel they would honor the land and it’s native people, take pride in the beauty that the country has to offer and not bow down to the American demands and pressure.
Just because our government doesn’t care doesn’t mean we shouldn’t. We need to do everything within our power to focus on a new way forward.

Wars for Democracy? Don’t waste your right

In years gone by, I have been very wasteful of my vote in democracy polls.  When I lived in England, I only remember voting once and that was on the first time I was allowed to vote!  I only really voted because I was now allowed to by age!  And to be honest, I didn’t know who to vote for, so I took the advice of my Dad!

Now I live in Canada and I am NOT able to vote this year due to my status, it has made me realise the importance of voting, because now I feel hopeless in regards to helping to steer the country / world in the right direction.  Out of ALL the things we could possibly do to “put things right” or “have our say”, this is the one thing that is the simplest, yet most effective method of making a difference.

Many countries are fighting to the death in order to win the right to vote, yet in the last elections here in Canada only 58% of registered voters actually went out and voted.  Please don’t waste your right to make a difference in the future of the planet.  There is no point in complaining about your situation and then not voting!

Go do your thing…..
