Day 123 (positive project) Are you Crazy Enough?

20120216-070943.jpg

Whilst in a tea house I noticed that the Steve Jobs Biography was sat on the book shelf. I had a spare ten minutes, so read the introduction. I turned to the quote above. I am very familiar with this and find it is very inspirational.

Don’t forget, people might think you’re slightly crazy by the things you do to change the world, but that’s ok, because you will. Stay strong, stay crazy!

Discovering Happiness through Purpose in 3 Natural Steps | Tiny Buddha: Wisdom Quotes, Letting Go, Letting Happiness In

This is an older post from Tiny Buddha, yet a post worthy of sharing.  (click the link at the bottom for the full article)

In everything we do, we seek happiness. Or at least what we think will bring happiness.

But this goal can often get us into trouble. It’s how you find yourself in a career that doesn’t represent you, consuming things lacking real value, and living a life that misses its impact on the world.

Awesome Christmas Tree Idea

If you really feel that you must buy a Christmas tree this season and a few home made ornaments wrapped over a branch in the garden just won’t cut it for you, then I have the best environmental solution!!

Live Christmas tree rental!

Yes, awesome – they deliver the tree, in a pot, to your door and then pick it up when you’re done.  This is so awesome and is the best solution for the environment, apart from not having a tree of course, but nevertheless, go check out the Evergrow Live Christmas Tree Rental Site.  They are based in Burnaby, Vancouver, BC and deserve a pat on the back for their idea.

A Cradle to Cradle Perspective on Autism and Environmental Toxins

For anyone that has read my blog posts, you will know that I am a huge fan of the Cradle to cradle certification system along with the book written by William McDonagh & Michael Braungart.

I have just discovered this article on their website which shows a fair and positive analysis of toxins. You can tell that the writings here are not laced with bias or any self serving hidden motive or politically charged corporate backing. Just simple honest points of view.

If its not safe, get rid of it.

Changing Old Habits

Within yourself is a private place where “no visitors are allowed”. This is where you meet yourself in total honesty, where you know what you’re willing to dream, desire and ultimately do.

In the article below Dr. Wayne Dyer explains four short and simple criteria for building a rationale for turning your life around. Making changes in your life for the better? Check out the article, ‘Looking for Change‘.

Vancouver to increase oil tankers?

I was made aware this morning via an email from the dogwood initiative,of just how many tankers are leaving Vancouver containing Oil. It is a staggering amount. Dogwood state that in 2010 the Kinder Morgan Pipeline we’re sending out 71 tankers a year. These ships contain crude oil from the tar sands. The sad part is, they want to continue to increase these numbers to 288 tankers a year!
It is coming up to BC municipal election season and it is here that many of us are empowered to speak with our vote. Check out the article at Dogwoods website. We don’t want an oil spill on the coast of BC.

“What I am is good enough if I would only be it openly.” ~Carl Rogers

I used to spend an awful lot of time worrying about people liking me. Or what people thought of me. Or what they thought of the clothes I was wearing. Or whatever.

It’s taken me a long time to realize two things:

1. Most people really aren’t even taking notice of us. (They’re too worried about what other people think of them.)

2. Of the few who are noticing us, the people who are judging us harshly are not the people we want around us anyway.

Makes sense, right?…….
